IndieGoGo Fundraiser Goes Live

It's been very hard work and I now know that becoming a filmmaker is no longer an ambition of mine. We are fundraising to produce our forthcoming edition of Pride and Prejudice, in 3 vols by Jane Austen. These funds are needed just to acquire the materials to produce the books themselves. Alanna (of Mad Hatter Bookbinding Co.) and I hope that everyone who would like to see this project happen can contribute, even in a small way. Perk rewards for contributions are on offer only through the IndieGoGo campaign.

Update – Sunday, May 27

I was washing the dishes on Friday night, my wife and I having just put our two girls to bed, when the signature bike bell that tells me I have a new email message kept ringing like a runaway cyclist whose brakes had failed and was desperately trying to alert everyone in the way of danger. What it was, was accidental fortune. Well, almost.

The 'ching-ching' sound was principally the pedal power of what 'James sez' to an editor at BoingBoing.net, whose posting at 6pm Friday (on a Memorial Day long weekend, mind you) begot a sprint of Twitter traffic about our modest PnP campaign. Over the next 24 hours, the resulting contributions nearly tripled our funds to over $7600. On the other pedal, keeping pace, have been the supportive members of JASNA, whose regional chapter heads received notice in the wee hours of the morning on that same Friday.

Thank you everyone. I think the message I am receiving is that supporters believe this project should be undertaken. Our love of the novel demands it. This project will happen! because you are all fantastic!
